Berni, There is currently on SPTD version 2.04 on the duplexsecure site. Are you referring to the older 2.02 version? @Support - I uninstalled per your instructions using the SPTD utility, and then reinstalled Alcohol 52. The driver failed at that point, at which point I installed the SPTD version 2.04, but this did not resolve the issue. For the time being I have reverted back to windows 8.1; please advise when you have released a version that is fully compatible with windows 10. Thank you David.
I have tried uninstall SPTD and every bit of Alcohol Then downloaded and installed the latest version of SPTD 2.0.4 After reboot and tried reinstall Alcohol 120 again - NO LUCK. Failed to install the driver. What I noted is that during the reinstallation of Alcohol, it tried to install SPTD again and ask me to reboot to go on. It seems that it tried to reinstall an old version of 2.0.2 for Alcohol 120.

I have also tried the Alcohol 52 free edition and the process is similar. This time, it tried to install the even older SPTD 1.8.6! What happen and any way to get round?
I had the same issue of no virtual drives upon installing Windows 10. I received the same error message. I found this forum and followed the suggesstion to install SPTD 2.0.4.
I then uninstalled Alcohol 120% including exercising the option to remove all registry data. I could not uninstall SPTD. Upon restart I installed Alcohol 120% again (2.0.3.7612). I verified that SPTD 2.0.4 was still installed.

Still no virtual drives. I restarted again. This time Alcohol asked me to register and then brought back my saved images in the library! It also allowed me to add virtual drives again. As far as I have checked, all is back to normal. Thanks for taking time to populate this forum. I am doing my part to share my story to help others who encounter this until it is addressed in a future update.

I have had the exact same issues as you are having and did what you did, but nothing so far. Up until today, the virtual drives were working in Windows 10. Then they disappeared.
Under 'Services' the Alcohol Virtual Drive Auto-mount Service stops immediately after starting. I have tried numerous times to uninstall and reinstall both Alcohol 120% and the SPTD 2.0.4 drivers. During reinstall I got the error 'Alcohol virtual ahci controller management service fail'. At wit's end here.
I am running the latest registered version of Alcohol 120%. Have been using the program for years with no issues. Chakravakam telugu serial all episodes. I upgraded to Windows 7 and have been having problems with Alcohol 120%.
First problem is that when opening the program, it does not recognize the fact that it is a REGISTERED VERSION. It asks me to go through the registration process, which I do successfully, but next time I run the program it is no longer registered. Second problem is that when I run the program I am told that 'Loading Alcohol Device Drivers Failed'.
Third problem is that once the program is open, when I try to use it I get all kinds of different error messages. One example is that when I try to open a disc image to write to CD, I get a series of error windows and then the program shuts down. Because of the above, I am trying to uninstall the program and reinstall it again. When I run the installer (in the program directory) I get the error message 'You Must Reboot After Previous Operation'. I look up this error message and see previous posts and try related suggestions. When this did not work, I tried the manual uninstall described in the forum FAQ. Seems like an old version because some of the items to be deleted from the registry do not exist (at least on my system).
Yes, I installed/uninstalled SPTD using the stand alone program. I searched the registry and removed anything with 'ALCOHOL' in it. I then tried to reinstall the program and it will not install. I get the message 'You Must Reboot After Previous Operation' I have deleted the program.
I have removed everything I am aware of from the registry. I have ensured that SPTD is uninstalled (at least the program says it is'.

I use this program constantly. Or at least I used to! Edited by FrankMD, 16 June 2009 - 05:44 PM. I had the same problem and it was SPTD. Even though SPTD is uninstalled there is a 'stuck' registry key that cannot be overwritten or deleted so the install fails. I found the following directions on the DuplexSecure site and it fixed my problem. The way to fix it: 1)Try to uninstall Deamon Tools, or other software using SPTD, delete Deamon Tools (or other software) folder in Program Files 2)Run Regedit in 'HKEYLOCALMACHINE System CurrentControlSet Services sptd' set DWORD 'Start' value to 4 3) Reboot in safemode 4) Run regedit in 'HKEYLOCALMACHINE System CurrentControlSet Services sptd CFG' - right click and select permissions - add your user (with administrative privileges) and check 'Full Control' box Then delete the whole SPTD key 5) Reboot in normal mode 6) Install SPTD or software containing SPTD.
(original post: ). Please uninstall SPTD and Alcohol, delete the Alcohol's installation folder if it still exists, the sptd.sys file in the C: Windows System32 Drivers folder if it also still exists and any entries related to SPTD or Alcohol that may remain in the registry, reboot, reinstall SPTD, make sure that it is properly installed (the standalone installer/uninstaller must detect it if you try to install it again), reboot and then try to install Alcohol in Safe Mode. Thank you for your response. However, as you will see in my original post, I have previously tried all that you suggested to no avail. For those of you experiencing this problem, and for whom the above suggestion does not work, I heard back from Tech Support via email with the following instructions: 'Please run regedit.exe (using Start - Run) and then browse to HKLM Software 0d79c293c1ed6145c90d04 you should have an 'r' value, please delete it and try to install latest version of Alcohol again.' Thankfully, this quickly resolved the issue. I was able to reinstall the Alcohol Soft 120% and it is once again working fine.Thank you to customer support for the fix.
